Amateur boatbuiding awards at HISWA 2017 boatshow
The Amsterdam Boat Show, HISWA, was held in early March in the Netherlands. The organisers, in cooperation with the English magazine “Watercraft”, have awarded prizes for the best amateur constructions. There was a classification for boats under 5 m and one for boats over 5 m. In each category, 3 boats were awarded and were also exhibited.
A Morbic 10, built by Benno Rikkers, was awarded in the category less than 5 m. I invite you to see the pictures of the construction on its Facebook page. A Béniguet, Marie, built by Peter Bakker, was awarded for the more than 5 m. Construction was the subject of a blog. Marie participated in Gulf Week 2015 and we may have the pleasure of seeing her again this year. I am delighted with this result and, of course, I congratulate the two talented builders.
